OUR STORY

CommuniBee is the brainchild of twin brothers Justin and Karl Holland, who are dedicated to saving bees and increasing bee populations, creating sustainable, simple solutions for those wanting to become beekeepers. 

 

Bees are integral to our global food supply and as such 'If the bee disappeared off the face of the Earth, man would only have four years left to live. ' (Albert Einstein). With the ever escalating demise of bees populations we see it as our duty to allow everyone to play their part in saving the bees. To achieve these goals ComuniBee provides education about the importance of bees and how you can play a part in saving the bees, as well as producing delicious, unadulterated honey for our customers, sourced from our beehives in Buderim.

Karl and Justin’s passion for beekeeping began when they received their first beehive for their fourteenth birthday in 2016, and they have been learning and growing ever since! A very influential mentor of Karl and Justin’s has been Jeff Herriot, a Buderim beekeeper of over 40 years with endless pearls of wisdom.

As their hives grew, the twins began selling ‘Buderim Blossom Honey’ in 2018 and the brand has become well known and loved by the local community. They soon realised how hard it is to get started in beekeeping, and that there was a high demand for homeowners wanting beehives of their own, and to learn more about bees, and from here CommuniBee was born. With the outstanding help of the Generation Innovation Challenge in 2020, their idea became a reality, culminating in the CommuniBee brand that you see today!
